CALL FOR ABSTRACT
Abstract submission
Types of Submissions
Oral Presentation
Oral presentation sessions offer the opportunity to present your research in more depth, followed by a discussion with participants within dedicated parallel sessions, which will be scheduled and grouped by the organisers. Each oral presentation includes 12 minutes for the talk and 3 minutes for questions and discussion.
Poster Presentation
Poster sessions provide a unique opportunity for extended discussion of your research, potentially with a large share of conference participants. Posters should be prepared in the standard conference format (A0, portrait orientation). At least one poster author must be registered for the conference and be present for the full duration of the assigned poster session. Posters must be mounted on the day of their scheduled poster session and removed at the end of that day.
Symposium
To encourage interaction among EAPL members around shared topics of interest, we welcome oral symposia. The symposium organiser/chair is expected to invite colleagues from research groups other than their own, ideally bringing together contributors from multiple institutions. A symposium must include a minimum of four presentations, and can last up to 90 minutes. Each presentation may last up to 15 minutes, and at least 10 minutes should be reserved at the end for discussion.
Submission Guidelines for
Oral Presentations and Posters
To submit an abstract (maximum 250 words) for an oral presentation, or poster, please follow the online abstract submission form available here
Notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent by 15 June 2026. After notifications are sent, all presenting authors must complete conference registration and payment.
Please note that registering on the submission platform is not the same as registering for the conference. Each presenting author must register independently for the conference by the early registration deadline (1 July 2025).
For empirical abstracts, the recommended structure is: Introduction, Objectives, Materials & Methods, Results, and Conclusions. Up to five keywords are recommended.
Abstracts should normally be based on collected data. However, submissions grounded in a theoretical framework with data collection planned after the submission deadline will also be considered, provided the timeline is feasible. In such cases, please clearly report the sampling method, expected sample size, research methods, data collection instruments, and planned data analysis approach.
Important submission information
Each author may be first author on a maximum of two presentations (for example, one oral presentation or symposium talk, plus one poster). Oral presentations consist of 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for discussion. Posters will be displayed for 90 minutes, and presenters will be asked to be present at a designated time.
Authors may indicate a preferred format (oral or poster) on the submission form; however, due to scheduling constraints, the organisers reserve the right to reassign some submissions to a different format. Authors are solely responsible for the ethical and scientific content of their submissions. There is no fee for abstract submission.
Submitted abstracts cannot be edited after the submission deadline and will be published exactly as submitted. Submission of an abstract implies the authors’ consent to publication (on the EAPL 2026 website, the programme, and related promotional materials). Poster display instructions will be posted later on this webpage.
Submission Guidelines for Symposia
Full symposia, including all abstracts, must be submitted by the symposium organiser/chair (symposium title, description, topic, and all abstracts). The organiser/chair is responsible for providing personal details and submission information for each included abstract.
A symposium is a coherent set of research presentations and theoretical perspectives focused on a specific topic, emphasising conceptual integration and drawing on contributions from multiple institutions and, preferably, different geographical locations. It typically includes 4–5 individual abstracts on a shared theme.
Please note that abstracts included in a symposium should not be submitted separately by individual authors.
